Workshops for international students

The ‘Same Different Me’ storytelling workshop project is a collaboration between ‘Story is Connection(SIC)’ and ‘City of Maribyrnong’ Phoenix Youth Centre aimed at exploring the fluctuating of sense of belonging and identity of international students.

Come to Express, explore and playfully reimagine your identity.

It’s a great chance to reflect upon your journey so far and to connect with new friends!

Conducted via Zoom, Catherine Simmonds and the SIC team will guide international students in telling their stories through improvisational theatre.

You will also have an opportunity to have individual conversation with Catherine to explore your story deeper.

Catherine will work with some small groups to prepare you to perform your stories to the wider community in the last workshop.

We’ll contact you regarding your expression of interest in participating in the workshops!

Especially, this project is for international students who have some connection with the Maribyrnong area. But don’t worry if you don’t have some connection, let us know, we’ll still have some exciting activities you can participate!
